During 30 years the International Apparel Federation (IAF) has produced the World Fashion Convention as a meeting of the entrepreneurs of the Fashion System from all over the world. In 2014, in association with Inexmoda, this important event will take place in Medellín, from September 29th to October 1st, becoming a unique opportunity to show the world the strength of the Latin American Fashion System.

The event is held annually on a different continent. In previous years the convention has been hosted by major cities such as Milan, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Washington, Istanbul, San Francisco, Porto and Shanghai among others, with an attendance of more than 200 executives each. Its content focuses on the fashion business, including branding, marketing and management of the supply chain.

This time, the content has been framed under the theme “Understanding the Challenges of the Fashion Business”, based on the fact that the Fashion System today changes much faster than a decade ago, which is why we must learn to understand and adapt to the challenges facing us today:

Challenge 1: Leadership.

Challenge 2: Competitiveness: the relationship between Latin America and the rest of the world.

Challenge 3: Innovation: new proposals.

Challenge 4: Co- Creation.

Challenge 5: Creativity: who is breaking paradigms?

Challenge 6: Consumer: new generations.

Challenge 7: Consumer: lifestyles.

Challenge 8: Multi-channel.

Challenge 9: Cooperation in the value chain.

Challenge 10: Major Latin American markets.

Challenge 11: Expansion: a look outwards.

Challenge 12: Fashion and music: the fashion business and its close relationship with other industries.

This important convention once again confirms the relevance of Colombia on the global fashion map and becomes an opportunity for domestic entrepreneurs to strengthen their business models. Additionally, the third edition of the Latin American Strategy Forum will be the academic focus of the convention, thereby strengthening business relations within the Fashion System, a space dedicated to networking.
